Music In The Church

St Andrew’s Anglican Church has two musical instruments that are used during the services and during concerts: a Hornung and Muller grand piano and an historic W. G. Rendell manual organ originally installed in 1904, refurbished in 1975 with upgrades in 2016. Check this link for more information on the organ: https://www.ohta.org.au/organs/organs/Braidwood.html

We welcome professional pianists, organists and organ scholars to come and practice or rehearse on these instruments, which need to be played lovingly and often.  They are tuned and serviced on a regular basis.

We have some wonderful church musicians and we are always on the lookout for pianists, organists and other musicians who would like to play during our weekly Sunday services.

If you are interested in practising or rehearsing or are interested in playing during services, please email: admin@braidwoodanglican.org.au, stating your interest and we will be in contact.

Braidwood Concert Series

St Andrew’s Anglican Church is a beautiful intimate venue with excellent acoustics,  suited to chamber music. Since 2015, Braidwood Concert Series has drawn professional musical ensembles, across a range of genres, from Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne to perform for Braidwood and villages’ enthusiastic audiences. We are committed to supporting fine, live music. Two annual programs - Summer/Autumn (covering late January to early May) and Spring (September to November) – are planned usually 6-8 months in advance, due to their popularity.

The performances range from Baroque and Classical chamber ensembles to contemporary Jazz, Gypsy Jazz and Tango, to Accapella and Choral ensembles.

Musicians and ensembles interested in performing as part of the Braidwood Concert Series, please contact the Concert Co-ordinator. Click on the sign-up link below.
